Treat Of The Week - Wellness CORE Superfood Protein Bars
When it was
announced earlier in May this year that popular pet food brand, Wellness had
just release a new range “super treats”, I was uber excited for it arrive in
Singapore.
Wellness distributor, Silversky was extremely generous in allowing The Wong Dogs to sample this exciting new range of treats!

Wellness CORE
Superfood Protein bars are based on their fastest-growing CORE line and combine
high-quality protein (choice of as chicken turkey, salmon, turkey and duck)
with super foods (sweet potato, pomegranates and kale) some of which are known
to have beneficial minerals and antioxidants for Fido.
At the same time, I realised
that the ingredient list was interestingly simple; if like me, you hate reading
long lists of scientific names that sound dubious, you will immediately feel at
ease with the laymen terms. What makes these treats even more attractive is
that they are 100 percent grain-free and as with all Wellness products, contain
no artificial flavours, colouring or preservatives. Works for me!
THE WONG DOGS REVIEW
Naturally, Cory
and Cole did not need much coaxing. Just a little sound from these bags (is it
just me or is the design really attractive?) and they dropped whatever
they were doing. Before long, I had two canines sitting and waiting impatiently
to do their tricks to earn their treats. One thing I noticed is that the bars
were of considerable size. Big enough for Cole to enjoy enjoying a few chomps,
while small enough for Cory not to choke in his haste to finish his portion.
Upon realising that each bar contains only 16 calories, my usually strict hand
was dishing out more than the typical two in each sitting.
Wellness CORE Superfood Protein Bar is also said to be extremely nutrient-dense which means that these two greedy boys are getting more nutrients with each treat as compared to their other treats. For example, kale is known to be extremely nutrient-dense foods and is said to contain high levels of minerals, vitamins, fiber amino acids and has been tested in effectively reduce inflammation.
With so much goodness and ease of mind that Cory and Cole are given enjoying one of the best treats in the market, I just wonder if they know how good a life they are having.
However, pets who are not active and/or barely exercise should not revel too much in Wellness CORE Superfood Protein bars as they are high in protein and might not be suitable for dogs with kidney or liver issues as the boost in this nutrient can increase the workload of these two organs.
